If you're looking for some books to read to end the year, I've got a few recommendations. The first one is called "The 5 Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman. This book has been around for over 20 years and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. It's an easy-to-read guide on how we speak and understand love that will help both single mothers as well as military spouses feel loved at home even when their spouse is overseas or deployed.
The second book I recommend is called "Women Who Run With Wolves". This book was written by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD who also wrote another popular book titled Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman
Paul Kalanithi was a physician who wrote about his life before he died. His memoir, when breath becomes air is one of my favorite nonfiction books because it shows how someone can always strive for their dreams despite tough situations they are in and this book gives me hope that I too will be able to accomplish what I want if i put all effort into achieving them like Paul did with pursuing medicine even though there were many obstacles in the way.
The Power of Now is a book written to help people realize how they can live in the present moment. It has helped many readers let go and accept life as it comes instead of trying to control their world with fear, worry, or ego-driven desires for more. The author questions why we are so afraid when everything that happens already exists within us now. Everything outside ourselves only shows up due to our own thoughts and feelings inside about what’s happening on the exterior level – where things appear solid but really aren’t at all.
the 5 am club
The book The 5 am Club is about owning your morning and getting the most out of it. It offers advice on how to set yourself up for success by creating good habits, planning what you're going to do with that time in advance, and giving yourself as much sleep as possible so you can truly make use of those early hours before work or school starts.
These are books I've read and re-read, to the point where they're so worn down I need new copies! They focus on topics like: growth, relationships, self-love, spirituality and more. I hope you find one or two of these as helpful for your life as I did. Let me know which ones you love too!
